The four basic Vedic texts and their meaning:
1. Rig-Veda- stands for “knowledge of the hymns of praise”, for recitation
2. Sama-Veda- stands for “Knowledge of the melodies”, for chanting
3. Yajur- Veda- stands for “knowledge of the sacrificial formulas”, for liturgy
4. Atharva-Veda- stands for “knowledge of the magic formulas”, named after a priest
- Indulgence is a remission before god of the temporal punishment due to sins whose guilt has already been forgiven. There are many myths about what it does. I choose to believe that this is pretty accurate since it’s the one most people talk and rave about.
